Six Lesser-Known Online Marketing Ideas
Posted in Marketing Infos April 22nd, 2008

Uniqueness is what separates each business, its services and its products. The difference gives buyers and on-line visitors a way of measuring this against that. It also makes the difference on their decision to buy.

Showing these differences takes creativity and unique ideas. Ideas that aren’t too far out for the regular person to understand yet also say, “Hey, wake up, this is different.

Here are six Internet marketing ideas that might just help you demonstrate your difference.

1. To increase people reading your whole copy, place a hidden link in your ad copy and then ask people to find it. Give them a prize for finding it or a freebie, like an ebook by clicking on that link.

2. Start a members-only web site. Tell visitors what they will get for access. Offer them a free membership for something in exchange. Example: (1) having a advertising paragraph about your product on their web site, (2) posting your banner on their home page, or (3) an ad in their ezine for a certain period (balance the dollars). This is a powerful way to get more advertising on a limited budget.

3. Increase your popularity on other people’s discussion boards or blogs? Exchange their mentioning your product or service on certain discussion boards in exchange for a product or services of yours. This requires tracking, however, they are testimonials and extremely valuable. This is also called viral marketing.

4. Give your visitors an instant article directory. Tell your visitors they can instantly add a free article directory to their web site by linking to yours. Just place your ad or banner ad on top of the article directory for your main product or service. All those links can add up to a large amount of traffic for your web site.

5. You can exchange articles; yours can be posted on their site and theirs on yours.

6. Create a web book website to stand out. Market it was a free web book. Design the website with a title page, table of contents, chapters, etc. Then place your ad or banner for your product or service on the top and bottom of every page.

Now it’s time to ask some questions. “What ideas from this list fit your customer needs?”

You will also want to ask, “Are any of these ideas currently used on your competitor’s website?” If not, what are you waiting for. Being first is the name of success in sales. Go ahead, set the precedent.

If they are being used on your competitor’s website. How are they using the idea? And more importantly, how can you use it differently?

If you have a multiple items you want to implement, create a list. Add next to the list what you need to learn in order to complete this. What is the budget? If you want to delegate this to, who would that be? Do you have such a person or company now, or do you need a referral?

Fear And The Profitable Forex Trader
Posted in Money Management April 20th, 2008

Forex trading is one of the most looked for occupations for many people these days. Around the world people is getting tired of fixed working hours and tight cubicles that limit their aspirations of a more relaxed and satisfying working life.

In order to start Forex trading the new trader doesn’t need a fortune or good Wall Street contacts that will let him become part of the chosen ones. The only thing the new forex trader needs is some starting capital (as low as $100, but an amount around $5000 would be more recommendable) and the free forex trading platform that will be provided by the Forex broker.

But one thing is to start Forex trading and other very different is becoming a profitable Forex trader. In order to become a profitable trader the new trader will immediately discover the imperative need of having an accurate knowledge of the markets and a good understanding of the forex technical indicators. Concepts as Moving Averages, Fibonacci levels, Bollinger Bands, etc; are the basic knowledge every trader must have.

This basic knowledge is indeed essential but once in front of the trading station, with real money on the line and with an open trade subject to the currency markets oscillations; things will start to get tricky even if the basic technical concepts of forex trading have been understood by the beginning and sometimes also by the experienced trader.

Knowledge will start to fade in front of one of the most basic instincts we humans beings have. Fear will ask for an entrance to the traders mind and if let in by the inexperienced trader, it will turn the making of critical decisions difficult and many bad trading moves may follow.

It is very natural to be afraid and let fear invade us if we are not really sure of what we are doing or we can not afford to lose even a cent in a bad trade; or seen in a different approach, the trader is so anxious and perfectionist that he won’t let him lose anything and will take it very seriously if he loses a trade.

Fear is one of the worst enemies of the Forex trader. In order to become a profitable trader it is essential that the person involved in trading understands that he must leave fear aside and stick to the trading plan he has constructed and arranged before, always understanding that losing trades happen to everyone and they are always part of a profitable trading career. A forex trader must learn how to profitable use his stops without heavily compromising the capital in his trading account, i.e., he must play safe but realizing that a calculated risk must be undertaken in order to maximize profits.

In short, fear is a natural emotion we all humans have given the right environment is present; therefore it is the trader’s obligation not to arrange a “fear environment” around him and be psychologically prepared for the ups and downs of the trade. No one is prefect and that’s an even deeper truth in forex trading.

Trustee Fees: How Much is Enough and How Much is Too Much?
Posted in Investing April 20th, 2008

I am often amused by the ads and offers I see concerning
living trusts.

Almost always, one of the big sales pitches is how a living
trust will save th*usands of doll*rs in “nasty” probate fees.

This leads the consumer to believe that you pay for probate,
but living trusts are “fr*e.” (that is, after you’ve paid the
promoter to set one up for you).

Not so.

Here’s an email I received from one of my subscribers
(she has given me permission to discuss her question in this
article):

Hi Phil,
My mom passed away recently and my sister is 1st trustee.
She claims she gets 10% of my mom’s estate as 1st trustee.
Is this true? What is the normal fee for 1st trustee?

Great question. Often one of the biggest, if not the biggest,
areas of dispute between children or heirs after a death occurs.

What is a trustee fee? How is it calculated? Are there other
fees?

If you have a trust and don’t know the answer to these questions,
I think the proper thought is “Uh-ohh!”

OK, let’s have a quick review of trustee fees.

First let’s make a distinction between the times a trustee may
be called upon to act.

Remember, one of the best uses of a trust is to manage the
assets of someone who is incapacitated. My best friend and
his sister have been managing their mother’s affairs (as
trustees) for the last 10 years. Mom is 95, in decent physical
health, but has advanced Alzheimer’s).

Let’s save the discussion of trustees fees charged for
managing an incompetent’s estate for a future article. Let’s
get down to answering the above question.

Here it is again:

Hi Phil,
My mom passed away recently and my sister is 1st trustee.
She claims she gets 10% of my mom’s estate as 1st trustee.
Is this true? What is the normal fee for 1st trustee?

Basically, the question is “How much can a trustee charge to
handle an estate after a death?”

How do we answer this?

First, we have to look at the trust instrument.

Most competently drawn trust instruments will have a section
that deals with trustee fees.

The better ones are fairly specific and make a distinction
between acting as trustee while the beneficiary is alive, but
incompetent, and acting as trustee after a death has occurred
(similar actions to what an executor performs through a probate).

So, first, we look to the trust instrument. Often it will specify
a fee. Sometimes it will say .75% to 1.25% of the total value
of the assets being managed and transferred (since this is the
typical fee charged by the professional trust companies run by
many banks).

In fact, let’s see what California law tells us about trustee fees
(every state will have a statute, go to your county law library
and ask the law librarian to help you look it up).

In California, the law of living trusts is contained in the
Probate Code. Here is what Probate Code Sections 15680-82 tells us:

15680. (a) Subject to subdivision (b), if the trust instrument
provides for the trustee’s compensation, the trustee is entitled
to be compensated in accordance with the trust instrument.

(b) Upon proper showing, the court may fix or allow greater
or lesser compensation than could be allowed under the terms of the
trust in any of the following circumstances:

(1) Where the duties of the trustee are substantially
different from those contemplated when the trust was created.

(2) Where the compensation in accordance with the terms
of the trust would be inequitable or unreasonably low or high.

(3) In extraordinary circumstances calling for equitable
relief.

(c) An order fixing or allowing greater or lesser compensation
under subdivision (b) applies only prospectively to actions taken in
administration of the trust after the order is made.

15681. If the trust instrument does not specify the trustee’s
compensation, the trustee is entitled to reasonable compensation
under the circumstances.

So to answer the question, we have to find out what the trust
instrument says. If it is silent, then Section 15681 tells us the
compensation is to be “reasonable compensation under the
circumstances.”

What is reasonable under the circumstances? If it were me,
I would gather up the brochures of the various bank trust
departments in the area to determine their rates. Where I
live, the fee is .75% to 1.20%, depending on the size of the
trust and the type of assets. The minimum is $5,000.

So, it looks like the answer to the question is that if the
trust instrument says the 1st trustee is entitled to 10%
compensation, then she may be. However, if it doesn’t then the
amount to be charged must be reasonable.

And, even if the trust instrument said 10%, I would seriously
consider asking a court to change the compensation per
15680 (b) (2) that allows the court to change compensation
“Where the compensation in accordance with the terms of the trust
would be inequitable or unreasonably low or high.”

This article needs to be continued since we haven’t even
touched on the big m*ney m*ker for trustees and attorneys,
“extraordinary fees.”

Good luck and until next time,

Phil Craig

Notebook Manufacturer That Seems To Be Raising A Few Eyebrows In The High Performance Laptops Segment
Posted in Tech + Life April 20th, 2008

Rizeon in the UK seem to be getting some positive praise on the internet yet I had never even heard of them until searching through the notebook forums. Their whole laptop range seems to be focused on the high end of the performance scale, featuring Intel centrino technology and targeted towards speed freaks and gamers. Buying a Rizeon laptop is not cheap. As they are all performance focused the starting prices are usually £600 up but after comparing some other deals I think it’s fair to say they are some of the greatest value laptops around. Spec for spec they usually work out less expensive and they don’t even skimp on the quality of internal components. According to their site they include brands like Seagate, Hitachi, Kingston, Corsair and Intel. They do pride themselves on supplying highly reliable, quality laptops.

Their website, found at www.rizeon.com/laptops/ is rather easy to use and it’s good to see the large range of upgrade options on offer. I always prefer custom laptops because the mass market laptops you find in retail stores just lack performance components. Their current range varies from 13.3inch up to 17inch systems with the latter being primarily positioned as a gaming laptop because it features the Nvidia 8800m GTX video chip, the fastest available today. I must say I’m very impressed on first glance. Its good to see that you can buy very high specification notebook computers without having to pay an arm and leg like when buying from the larger companies. Sure there are other manufacturers doing similar things but they seem to be targeting other niches or trying to battle with the big boys in the market place which is usually a losing battle. You do get a lot for your money when buying Rizeon laptops so I would recommend checking out what’s on offer.

Free Yourself from Past Experiences
Posted in Beauty Resources April 19th, 2008

This is a time for being fully present in the now and expand who and what you think you are.

Being fully aware of all your senses and your connection to your environment, take a deep breath and connect to this moment.

Look through your eyes as though you are seeing for the first time. Hear the clarity in the sounds arriving at your ears. Do this with all your senses and get clarity on your connection to life and your environment.

There has to be more to life than just this physical connection that is made through our senses. We have all experienced sensations and understanding that we can not easily explain.

There are many dimensions to the human experience, what we notice is, if we focus on one aspect of ourselves that aspect grows and becomes dominant. But it is possible to experience all these dimensions at the same time and in total balance and harmony.

The breath is useful for centring our energy; this is a process of letting go. Scan through your body with your feelings, if you feel any tension or discomfort, just take a breath and relax.

This is a time for going beyond the physical, going beyond you understanding, by letting go you can come into a clear understanding of the finer and finer aspects of whom you are.

There is no power or control in this state, this is a process of releasing and relaxing and being that connection to Yourself. Allow your connection to your higher Self, life, the Universe and God, to flows naturally out of itself.

The qualities of this awareness as you reach out with your feelings are; sublime love, peace and harmony. The reason you feel relaxed in this state is that it is a natural experience of aligning your energies with your higher Self, which is in effect the Universe and God.

When you have made this connection, if you wish you can choose to have loving creative thoughts. Using your imagination, your passion and your dreams and desires; you can get clarity on your vision for life and move into alignment with your life purpose.

As you get closer to your life purpose, you experience more joy and happiness. Life gets easier and flows in synchrony with love. Life is a frictionless flow of love expressed through your dreams and aspirations. You are life and your body is the vehicle through which this life energy flows to express itself in the world.

The New Energy we are feeling within our Self, gives us total freedom of expression to flow our energy in harmony with the universe.

This natural alignment of your higher Self with your body, mind and spirit into a multi layered experience of peace and harmony; flows and speeds up the path to enlightenment and self development.

Tattered Flesh, Resilient Spirit. Craig Collision M.D.
Posted in Best Books April 18th, 2008

Craig’s life was going along just like it should; he was finishing his Pediatric internship at the hospital, his wife was expecting their third child, and the house was for sale as they looked forward to their move back to Pennsylvania from Cleveland. But their dream of a bright future would change to one of a nightmare. Craig undergoes a minor surgery for a benign lump under his left shoulder blade; he is confident his recovery will be rapid and his return to work timely, but Craig would develop complications that would turn out to be flesh eating bacteria disease. In what would turn into twenty hours of surgery the doctors raced to save Craig’s life and as much of his body as they could from the deadly bacteria. His post surgery condition was so severe that the only other hospital that would be able to properly care for his many open wounds would be the Burn Intensive Care Unit of the MetroHealth Medical Centre in Cleveland, Ohio. Craig’s condition would require equipment and treatments such as the spray table for cleaning his wounds and skin grafting over the span of many months. “This is the locale where the newest and most experimental therapies are tried and used in a last effort to thwart death.”

Tattered Flesh is the story of Craig’s fight for life, his strides and setbacks. It is a collaboration of his own memories, as well as journal entries made from his wife, friends, and hospital staff, into a journal that was kept by his bedside. “The entries express the raw emotions of life: love, fear, death, despair, faith, and hope as they happened, day-by-day.” Craig added bible verses to the book because he says these are the verses that were used to strengthen and guide them through their terrible experience. Though Michelle, his wife, witnessed her prayers being answered in her husband’s survival, Craig however, had a hard time accepting the reality of his situation. He does not consider himself a “miracle”, his acceptance of his reality has been difficult and he is not sure of the reason why this had to happen to him, but by sharing his story he hopes to encourage others in similar circumstances, and that his pain will benefit others.

Craig describes every phase of his admission process, from Emergency to the I.C.U., through the Burn Unit to the Step-down unit, Rehabilitation, final reconstructive surgery, and resurfacing back into normal society. He also includes a Glossary containing several sections on types of physicians, surgery, and medical terms. In addition to the Glossary there is also an Appendix that lists some common pain medications; the emergency room procedures and policies; hospital day; rehabilitation; and defines the various Units of the hospital such as the I.C.U. and the B.I.C.U. (Burn Intensive Care Unit).

What sets this book apart from many others may be the way it has impacted the life of the author. Craig Collision M.D. faced death and agonizing pain; it changed his outlook on his profession and how he relates to his patients and those who have been disfigured by disease. His situation may be more unique in that Craig is a physician who found himself in the position of the patient. His battle was long and frustrating as he struggled to regain his independence; from being able to breathe on his own to learning to walk again. Miracles happen around us every day and Tattered Flesh, Resilient Spirit is about one those miracles.

Teacher RSS Feeds Can Help Stop Classroom Management Problems And Streamline Your Time
Posted in Education April 18th, 2008

It may be a new year, but you are probably still dealing with
the same old “kid problems.” The bad attitudes, disrespect, peer
conflict, lying, school failure or family problems didn’t change
when you flipped the page on the calendar. Don’t let last year’s
problems create another difficult year. Resolve to stop using
last year’s failed solutions, and instead substitute updated,
more effective methods like those contained in our books,
instant ebooks, workshops and web site. This may be the right
moment to stop using methods that didn’t work well in 2005, and
will fare no better in 2006. If you don’t decide now to switch
to updated, more effective methods, you may continue to find
your job discouraging and frustrating, and your students may
continue to struggle and be very hard to manage. What better
time to make the switch than as you flip the page on the
calendar? You might actually discover that working with
difficult kids doesn’t have to be so difficult. Resolve in 2006
to try these 6 new ideas to replace some of those worn-out,
failed interventions that you should leave behind in 2005:

1. Chronic Problems Don’t Have to Be Chronic

Classic chronic problems– like students misbehaving when they
need help– do not have to be “the way it is.” You can change
chronic problem areas, and you should, because these problems
take a huge toll on you, and on your students.

RESOLVE to Stop Chronic Problems

Here is a brand new intervention to use with students who act
out when they need help in class: Teach your students “1, 2, 3,
Help Me.” It’s a system that students can use to easily
communicate with you when they need help. “1″ means “I can do it
on my own.” “2″ means “I need help starting,” and “3″ means “I’m
going to need help the whole way through.” Now, even non-verbal
students can easily get help without acting-out.

2. Stop Guessing What to Do

Do you want your doctor guessing how to cure your illness? No,
you want her to know what to do. Are you guessing why children
are mute or absent? Do you wonder how to contain severe acting
out? Guessing is often ineffective and can be dangerous. If you
have to guess a lot, it may be a sign that your training may not
have sufficiently equipped you to understand the increasingly
serious emotional and behavior problems that today’s students
present.

RESOLVE to Stop Guessing

If you use the same generic interventions with your entire broad
range of students, that’s like having a single wrench in your
tool box. You would have to use that wrench when you really
needed a screwdriver or a hammer. How well would that work?
Upgrade your skills with your students to fit all the different
types of students and problems that you work with. Start with
conduct disorders since conventional methods like character ed,
can actually make them much worse– and these are already your
hardest-to-manage students. Visit this link to get the
introductory basics: HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/hottopic.html rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.co
m/hottopic.html.

3. Stop Relying on Talk

Students only remember what you say for about 30 minutes, and
even then, they tend to remember only about about half of what
you said. Verbiage is not the best access channel to reach all
students so stop making it your sole or primary approach.
RESOLVE to Use a Wider Range of Modalities

Here is a dynamite intervention that doesn’t rely on what you
say. It gets the job done better than mere speech. It’s our
popular Poster #37, “If You’re Rude, You’re Our Dude,” reduced
in size to become a handout. If you click the link, you will be
able to open the handout and then print it to use with your
students. It is from our brand new “Behavior Change Handouts:
Becoming a Motivated and Prepared Student and Worker” ebook.
This series has nearly all our dynamic handouts and you can own
and print them in just seconds. You can find the ebook at HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/printable.html rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.c
om/printable.html. You can get the handout version of Poster
#37 right here if you have PDF software on your computer: HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/poster37.pdf rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.com
/poster37.pdf. If you need PDF software, get it free at HREF=http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html rel="nofollow">http://
www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html 4. Explore the
Endless New Tools that Exist

If your tool box contained just a wrench, you’d be so happy to
discover hammers and screwdrivers. That analogy may apply to the
tools you are using to teach or counsel. Are you aware that
there is an endless supply of more effective interventions that
could make your job easier and your students more successful?

RESOLVE to Try 1 New Intervention Every Week

Here is an easy way to get 52 new methods incorporated into your
skill set. Add a new, improved technique each week. Our Help and
Solution Center at our site ( HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/favori.html rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.com/
favori.html) has hundreds of methods that will work better
than your old approaches. Here is one to start: Some older
students think they “know it all already.” Don’t use the
conventional method of confronting that belief. Instead, ask
them to explain what “repair and deduct” means when said by a
tenant with a bad landlord. Few youngsters will know that term
even though it could be terribly important. (It means that a
tenant can arrange needed repairs when a landlord has failed to
do so– plus the tenant can deduct it from the rent. Don’t know
this? You might have to live without plumbing or heat!)

5. Put Technology to Work Solving Your “Kid Problems”

You no longer have to go looking for answers. Now you can make
answers come to you. If you haven’t heard about RSS (Really
Simple Syndication) you are missing out on the hottest new way
to put the internet to work for you.

RESOLVE to Try RSS

It is so easy to learn about RSS. Start with our site’s sign up
page at HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/education.html rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.c
om/education.html. It will explain what RSS is, and let you
sign up for our feed. Every time we add new interventions, add a
new resource, post another free handout, or publish another
issue of this internet magazine, you will be the first to know
because you will be alerted by receiving an RSS feed. No more
hunting through our huge site to find the new ideas or best
methods, they will come to you through RSS. Technology will have
done a lot of the work for you.

6. Make Technology Your Assistant

So many of you are being asked to do more with less. Because of
recent technological advances on the internet, technology can do
automated tasks for you, freeing more time for you to work with
students. RESOLVE to Use RSS Feeds to Save Time

When you want to know the newest requirements of “No Child Left
Behind” or what decisions were made by your state Department of
Education, you now probably take time to read the newspaper or
go to a web site to get an update. RSS Feeds can do that work
for you. For example, instead of going to the Indiana Department
of Ed site to hunt for the update, you can set up a feed that
brings the update to you. You no longer have to read the
newspaper to get the news on schools and children. A feed can
bring it to you. An example of a news feed that delivers just
the news about schools and children, is shown on our web site as
an example at HREF=http://www.youthchg.com/contact.html rel="nofollow">http://www.youthchg.com
/contact.html. Look for the moving scroller that is most of
the way down the page.

Try using bathroom mirrors in your bathroom to reflect objects of interest
Posted in Hall Of Home Improvements April 17th, 2008

Bathroom mirrors are available in many different shapes and
sizes. With, or without a frame, round, oval, rectangular, or in
a special shape. For small mirrors, decorative wall brackets on
each side will illuminate both sides of your face evenly. You
can also mount a wall bracket across the top of the mirror.
Fixtures equipped with incandescent bulbs behind glass or
plastic diffusers provide the most flattering light.

One of the most important functions of bathroom mirrors is to
reflect light, both natural and artificial. When reflecting a
window, mirrors can bring the outdoors in. Bathroom mirrors
lighten, brighten and add drama to a bathroom with decorative
mirrors. Choose from extendable, lighted magnifying bath mirrors
as well as oval, round, square/rectangular or unique size
mirrors. They come in a variety of finishes and prices.

Bathroom mirrors are an important element of bathroom design
that can completely alter the look of the room. Mirrors can be
used to reflect a favorite object in the room, increasing its
presence. The style of the mirror, vanity and lighting should
all match. Traditional styles look best with framed mirrors,
especially in an oval shape. Contemporary designs look good with
unframed, circular and/or beveled mirrors.

Matching the mirror frame to the vanity cabinetry gives a
uniform look. The vanity size will determine the size of the
mirror. The bathroom mirror should never extend beyond the
