A major adjustment in hospitality and air travel was triggered by Nicholas Bredimus, who introduced them to the computer software industry to produce something new. This innovative man has been involved in a number of fields, from the high value home market through a study of air safety and computer programs to save time and resources. Glancing at Nicholas Bredimus’ roots anyone could discern he was a lock to rise to prominence. The kindred traces its provenance back to the era of ancient Rome and proudly boasts a varied mix of nationalities. The maternal family mingles Scottish and German stock. The paternal line, however, originates in Luxembourg and England, where they emigrated from toward the end of the 19th century.
Having arrived in the US, the family still worked hard to make their way in the world. Growing up one of seven children, Nicholas was blessed with a father employed as a mechanical design engineer, and a mother who earned her living as a nurse. Bredimus would live in Texas for a while as well as in Reston, VA, Scottsdale, AZ and Kansas City, MO.
Once his education had been completed, Nicholas Bredimus would sign up for quite a few high-powered posts at several of the most important airlines. These included the Vice Presidential role for Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines, and Hughes Airwest. Most celebrated, though, was his effort as an inventive software designer for the airline industry.
He is most recognized for a project for US Airways, his aircraft maintenance management computer programs that can now be found in use by the majority of air travel companies. But this stands as just one of his major innovations for the hotel business and for airlines. His reservation software is on its way to stand alongside the airplane maintenance program as a standard, while his room booking system enabled many major parts of the hotel industry to implement a PC based system. Continuing to innovate, he designed a networking program to help with ticketing - another groundbreaking masterpiece.
Mr Bredimus has even taken on a number of posts entirely outside of software design, it should be mentioned. Key positions with American Airlines and American Express followed, and of course he launched a business of his own in the early nineties. Having stepped back from the positions in which he first experienced fame, his skills are, regardless, still in demand. Look for his work now mastering building design - balancing the requirements of esthetics with increasingly sophisticated technology and real concern for the environment. Proof, if such proof were needed, of just how much energy can actually do!
